Equation Editor with Mac OS X

How to I get MapleTA's eqution editor to work on a Mac? I can't get the applet to start in Firefox, but I can with Sea Monkey. Even so, I can't get the pallets to appear. Anybody know how to do this?

I find that I have to be VERY patient with it the first time it loads in Firefox.

It takes about 2 minutes to finish loading. Once the input area appears, I have to left click to make the text input cursor appear. Then if I right click, the pallet will appear - but not until after I release the right button AND move the mouse.

After using it for the first time in a session, it behaves much better.
