MathType

Hello,

I used to Mathtype and copying works correctly because Mathtype is default Math tool in Office (instead of Equations).

Could you please write more (e.g. the formula)?

Vladimir

are there any softwares or methods can do this ?

I'm looking forward to your help! thanks!

LaTeX?

I do not know MathType myself, but I read at their site:

Type TeX or LaTeX: If you already know the TeX typesetting language, you can enter equations quickly using MathType's TeX input mode.

Hence you may try using the command 'latex'.

PD: dhar posted below the same idea while I was editing.

to powerpoint is easier than to mathtype

If you just want a nice equation in powerpoint, as opposed to getting the formula into mathtype, then you can export the maple worksheet as *.rtf, open it in Word, and then copy the equation from Word to Powerpoint

(at least in Windows with Maple 10, this works). Exporting as html and then copying the gif files give much poorer output quality.

Cheers,

David.

Yes but in this case the

Yes but in this case the equation will be considered as pictures but not as equation which you cannot modify them if you want. I think the point here is whether we can export from maple "modifiable" equation or not.

modifiable is also less standard

I agree that it is not modifiable; I do not know how to get that.

Frequently at conferences you have to submit your powerpoint presentation to the conference organizers for use on their computers. The I avoid Mathtype since it is not loaded on most conference machines, and then your output is "font nightmare". I have even been to conferences where even the simple Word equation editor was not installed. So I avoid modifiable in favour of the always displayable. This is especially the case since one can use slide years later, forgetting that they were created with some special software in mind.

via latex as an intermediate step?

I'm not a mathtype user, but the web site suggests you can input in latex. Since Maple can generate latex with the latex command, in principle this should work. Perhaps someone else has tried this?

MathML !

If you have the full MathType, I believe it understands MathML.  It used to be that Maple posted to the clipboard in multiple formats, including MathML -- at least Classic does/did.  Then you can just paste in the MathML.  If that doesn't work, then you can choose the 'convert to MathML' from the context menu, copy that, and paste it in.  Hopefully that will work.

Problem with MathML

Yes, it could work, but I do not use MathML from Maple, because there are some important bugs (differences) that causes problems with displaying the result.

MathType, office - OLE works correctly

Hello,

I think, that MathML works, but it is not very effective.

If you have a Mathtype software, MS Office (MS Office installed before MathType) then there is no problem. You are able to copy Maple output to MathType window that is occured from Office using Inserting Equation from the menu. It works and the result is editable in the powerpoint (all office products). I do not know the reason why use MathML or other technologies instead of OLE on Windows platform. It works!

The second way is use OpenOffice and its Math editor but there are some problems.

Notice:

MathType is able to import a LaTeX source and it converts the input to Math-2D formula, MathML too.

Of course, MathType is usually not installed on machines at conferences. If you use your machine, why you not use Maple presentation mode directly?
