<itunes:summary>
Other than February 29, the day of the year with the fewest births (in typical Western countries) is December 25. Other holidays and Sundays also have few births. The reason is obvious, when you think of it: the obstetricians want the day off, so they don't schedule Caesarians for those days. See e.g. <http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/statab/t001x16.pdf>
</itunes:summary>

      <itunes:summary>
@John May Look at this and read Biths_in_Australia_2.xls In my opinion the birthdays in Australia differ from the ones in the Northern Hemisphere, it is expected. PS. Sorry for the slip of the pen (of the click?) in the name of the linked file.
</itunes:summary>

      <itunes:summary>
@hirnyk I was hoping for daily birth data from Australia, but I used the monthly data you posted to plot Austrailian births from 1998-2007 (2008 Decemeber numbers looked incomplete) renormalized, fit with a curve (using ?CurveFitting,Spline ), and overlaid on the US data:

To my eye it looks a little less seasonal perhaps due to seperate winter and Christmas/New Year conception spikes? (the white month labels at the bottom are the approximate months of conception)

Heres the new worksheet: birthday-distributi.mw
</itunes:summary>
