<itunes:summary>
worked flawlessly here, easy to install, great package thanks!

Resizing plots programmatically is a frequently requested feature. A great add-on.

### Query the intallation folder location:

cat(kernelopts(homedir),"/maple/toolbox/Resize") ;
            "C:\Users\patrick/maple/toolbox/Resize"

### An example of use is found here:

cat(kernelopts(homedir),"/maple/toolbox/Resize/Examples/Resized_plots.mw") ;
"C:\Users\patrick/maple/toolbox/Resize/Examples/Resized_plots.mw"

### Install acer's Package "Resize_installer.mla"

march( 'open', "C:/tmp/Resize_installer.mla");

</itunes:summary>

trivial issues

      <itunes:summary>
It installs and runs on Linux 64. Thanks for this practical utility.

I ran into two minor issues during installation. First, after selecting File -> Open to open the .mla file, I forgot to select the extension type (*.mla), so could not initially find the file where I downloaded it. My mistake. Second, after starting the installation, the dialog that opened had a "cancel" button but no "next" button. Turns out the default dialog box size was too narrow on my machine, so the "next" button, which exists, does not appear unless the window is manually widened. Took me a while to figure that out. This can be avoided by setting width=1000 when constructing the installer.
</itunes:summary>

Nice Job on Resize

      <itunes:summary>
This was easy to install and use. (Maple 15, Windows 7 64 bit).

One question. This seems to proliferate locations where Maple code is located. Would ther ebe any issues in putting it in the Maple 15/Toolbox? If there are none, what would ahve to change to make it work?

Thanks

toolbox and libname

      <itunes:summary>
@Bruce Scranton The default location is automatically added to ?libname. Alternatively, you could create a catch-all directory, say, ~/maple/toolbox/mystuff/lib and put it there.

Modifying the directory structure of a program's installation is usually not a great thing to do. Also, the location you gave won't automatically be added to libname, though you could change it slightly to have it work: Maple 15/toolbox/whatever/lib should work.
</itunes:summary>

I'd have to check

      <itunes:summary>
@Bruce Scranton
As Joe mentions, in general you could create a catch-all folder for such add-on material. The key thing there is that certain locations for folders named "lib" will automatically get added to `libname` upon Maple startup.

But the underlying mechanism (read: trick) at work for this sized plot insertion is that it has to first save to an .hdb help file. Offhand, I can't recall whether the private .hdb file it's using for that is referenced with a hard-coded location. I suspect that it tries to write to a particularly named .hdb file, the specific location of which may or may not matter. It's probably safe to try moving it to cat(kernelopts(mapledir),"/toolbox"), as Joe described.

I keep meaning to come back to this thing. I now believe that I might be able to wrap the two relevent INTERFACE_XYZBLAH() calls inside streamcall() and by doing so get the full effect with just a single procedural top-level return. By which I mean I should be able to get rid of that second function call, to insert into the current worksheet.

Ideally the plot should be placed into an output area, when inserted into the running worksheet. And it might be nice to (optionally) allow the actual plot command in question to be inserted into the corresponding input area. Hopefully, that would mean (behaving as usual) that subsequent re-execution of that inserted plot command would re-fill the presized output and retain the specified size. And the `Resize` call could be deleted by the worksheet author, immediately following insertion. The `Resize` call isn't wanted, longterm, as re-execution of the worksheet would cause repeated insertions, not overwrites.

Lastly, food for thought in this holiday season: the underlying mechanism allows on-the-fly insertion of programatically constructed portions of worksheet XML. What other kinds of compound and complex worksheet objects do we want to be able to programatically construct and insert, live, into a running Worksheet or Document? (I have a running wishlist of my own,...)</itunes:summary>

      <itunes:summary>
You are a step ahead (maybe two or three) of where I am on this type of programming. But I know enough to appreciate what you are doing.

You made a comment (about re-execution) that has me wondering about my experience last night.

I have a worksheet where I calculate and plot (polygonplot) Helga von Koch's snowflakes. In general my interest in resizing is to get a plot with as much detail as I am going to be able to use in class, not make a small plot and have generic algorithms stretch it larger. Specifically in this case I want to show as much detail of the snowflake as I can.

When I was working with it last night I computed the snowflakes and assigned them to kochstar(i). I then tried to display using the Resize() and Show(). The first one worked perfectly. However after that one, the code would seem to execute, but it would always show me the plot that I did first. Is there some sort of reinitialization that I need to add? I don't what to have to use restart, because I have just filled my memory with snowflakes.

Thanks and have a Blessed Christmas,

Bruce
