<itunes:summary>
Manual updating would be completely insane. I know that it is fully automatic (but with a small delay) on the site where a lot of these features were copied from (StackOverflow).
</itunes:summary>

Exactly my thought.

If it's automatic - it is either buggy, or has more than 3 days delay (or both :).

Stack Overflow copiers

      <itunes:summary>
In general, with Stack Overflow being successful, mostly because of attracting a large community of programmers not concentrating on any specific topic, none of its copiers, concentrating on some specific topics were even close to that success AFAICT. In particular, the mathematics site is quite a disaster - not total, but close to that.

Thus far, I got mixed feelings abot this v.2 of Mapleprimes. Most of old discussions got mixed up randomly - replies are printed higher than the comments they are replying to and so on. I've suggested already to provide a copy of old Mapleprimes from a different URL - something like old.mapleprimes.com. That would make reading old posts much easier.

In general, the navigation here seems to be more difficult than it used to be.

On the other hand, some people stopping posting on Mapleprimes for a while, seem to be getting back.

Glad to see you posting here, Jacques - I was getting quite bored last couple of weeks.

Calculation of Badges

      <itunes:summary>
Badges are granted to users using an application automatically. Definitely not a manual process.

However, the application is not currently set to run on an automatic schedule, so I need to manually run the application. I'll be setting the application to run automatically soon, it will run hourly so your badges will appear shortly after you earn them.

StackOverflow and MathOverflow

      <itunes:summary>
Clearly this new version of primes has been highly influenced by StackOverflow. Unfortunately, to my mind, not enough. The badges do not show up beside your name, the responses do not influence your reputation, the home page is too cluttered, there kinds of sorting available are not as good, and so on.

But I entirely disagree with you regarding MathOverflow. In fact, I tend to spend most of my 'free' time on MathOverflow [because the people there have a lot to teach me!] and I find StackOverflow entirely boring. Only once in a while does a vaguely interesting thread come up (like the one from Alan Kay), but by and large it is way too dominated by mainstrream languages. The level of discussion on MathOverflow is hugely higher, and is exactly the level I am interested in. I think I got bored with mapleprimes because the level of discussion had degenerated too much.
</itunes:summary>

      <itunes:summary>
That is certainly not only trivial stuff, just an active topic: "A ring such that all projectives are stably free but not all projectives are free?", http://mathoverflow.net/questions/27424/a-ring-such-that-all-projectives-are-stably-free-but-not-all-projectives-are-free

Actually it is about the Grothendieck group, and the answer by Kumar (quite well known in commutative algebra) shows people you rarely can watch at sci.math.

BTW: if remember correctly the 'classical' proof for his answer is via algebraic topology "Satz vom Igel" (do not know the English name) and the sphere in R^3, while he his citation is Swan, Annals and *very* deep.
</itunes:summary>
