I started using Maple TA to create some online exercises for students at a universtity of applied sciences in Germany. I proceeded in writing the exercises with the help of LaTeX. Here I would like to share some experiences in a kind of overview. For me there are 4 major fields of disaffection:

1. In general, the Maple TA rendering of math content is very poor. Look at the layout produced by LaTeX and you know what I mean.

2. The conversion of LaTeX files provided by Maple TA ...

I'm just getting started with Maple TA (version 5). Playing with making plots based on algorithmic variables.

I would like to choose 2 random variable to use as x and y values...

$a=range(-5,5,1);
$b=range(-5,5,1);

...and plot the point defined by ($a,$b).

I can plot a function using this command...

$plot1=plotmaple("plot($a*x+$b,x=-10..10,y=-10..10)");

unfortunately Maple T.A. 5 is looking more and more like a significant downgrade from Maple T.A. 2.5, our prior version. In particular, the question repository has seriously increased the amount of time it takes to administer questions and assignments (see my comment in the thread "TA5 question repository" in this forum for some of the ugly details), and since writing that piece we've encountered even more debilitating behaviour. How can I use algorithmic variables in multiple parts of a multipart question? We used to do it like in the Tips & Techniques document http://www.maplesoft.com/tacontent/view.aspx?SID=5390. Now, the variables from the question algorithm seem hidden from the parts.

When I create the multipart question through the question editor, I get the following script:

Hi all, I'm new to Maple T.A. 5.0 (I have about a weeks experience with it) and I'm wondering how to utilize the Keyword search function. When I go to Question Repository there seem to be 4 categories that I can search from; Groups, Type, Keyword, and Information Field. I understand how to use all these search options, save Keyword. Is there a way to assign a keyword to a question or a group so I can search by it? And if so, can someone please tell me how to do it?

Can anyone tell me how to delete a set of questions? Yes it is clear how to delete one question. In earlier versions, there was a two step process in importing a question bank; one could import the question bank and then logout without  'saving' it if one did not want to keep the questions. When I import an existing question bank into v5, it seems to automatically save the questions. I now have a couple of hundred questions i want to delete!! The user guide on page...
