There is a free program called Meshlab that allows you to import and view x3d files created in Maple.

If one wants to beta-test a standalone (no MeshLab, LaTeX or other monsters required) command-line converter from Maple X3D to 3D PDF (PRC) - ask me (master at iaas.msu.ru) for it (cross-platform GPL/LGPL source and Windows binary).
