Please see the rightmost column (titled "International") in ?2DMathShortcutKeys.
Redefining keyboard bindings is not possible, sorry, but for most (if not all) shortcuts, there are equivalent menu items.
As a last resort, consider migrating from Sweden to a supported country. I'm talking about OS settings and keyboards, of course. ;-)

Right clicking and choosing the "Evaluate and display inline" option does the trick. Took a while for a beginner for me to figure this out. Thanks for the responses to my questions. This helped me to dig further.

cntrl+alt+= does not work either. I get a right curly bracket instead. Is there a way of setting a desired keyboard action? For example, by replacing cntrl+= with cntrl+0, which simplifies the action because 0 is the lower action on the = key.

I am sorry but the shortcut key in the 2DMathShortcutKeys help page does not work either. Cntrl+Alt+0 gives just a right curly bracket. I can't find the menu command either for inline evaluation. I have toggled from text to math without much change in the result. Sometimes, the key combination leads to a decrease in the font size for the whole page. But then, I found that this was caused by Cntrl+0.

As far as I can see, all the other shortcut keys that i tested seem to work. But not the inline evaluation shortcut key.
