Hi Chris,

Thanks for your questions. There are no major changes planned based on the acquisition. Both sites, maplesoft.com and MaplePrimes, will always be improved on an ongoing basis (as-needed), but nothing will change as a result of the change in ownership.

Our staff and office will remain the same, in Waterloo. :)

You may look at the thread, where users replied - but it is naive to expect an answer from Maple stuff beyond a political reply.

However you can look at the new owner, may guess whether it is an investor, check its quotations at stock exchange and try to find out what happens with other companies in its portfolio (concurrent and past).

From all I know (as a small [now ex-]shareholder and recent discussions with Maplesoft executives), her answer was not just a 'political' reply, but the actual expectations of Maplesoft employees of what will happen for the next several years.

This is good news indeed. Maplesoft has a lot going for it, I would hope it would not change that much. I suppose it's not like when Autodesk took over Maya and changed a lot of things, that wasn't good for them in the beginning but I think they've ironed things out.

It's sounding like Maplesoft's takeover is a lot like what's happened to our company. We were just bought out by a very large American company, shareholder vote pending and most likely, but it is a holding company and has left the day to day operations of the company up to original management teams, a key to continued success of any company really.

I'm not sure how much I can/should say, but the contract is explicitly structured in that direction (i.e. keep the original management team in place and no abrupt changes in direction). I don't really want to say more than that (even though it would be comforting to current Maple customers!) because it might also give too much information to the competition, which would not be good for the company either.
