I have just looked by chance at Medit. Playing a bit, in ten minutes, I have got it work as an IDE-like for Maple:

This is under Ubuntu 8.04, and there is a Windows port also, though I have not tested yet.

Hmm, bad news. I use Gnu-Emacs (not Xemacs) and wrote it for that. That's not to say it cannot be made to work with Xemacs, but probably not out of the box (its been several years since I've tried it with Xemacs).

I never tried Notepad++, notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm, just use it to view C or C++ files.

May be one can set it up for Maple's syntax.

However using an editor I would have the wish of accessing Maple's help, but probably one can not expect to have all-in-one for free.
