You may try something like:

plots:-logplot(exp(2*x), x=-10..0);

works fine

thx, you're totally right... the logplot command works fine producing exponential notation on the axis in distanances of one decade. i just tired this real quick at home in the morning where I have maple 11. here at my institute we just have the obsolete 8th version and i still have the problem as described when i use the logplot command. i just didn't realize it's a version issue that's been fixed in the later releases.

2D plotting had a substantial upgrade in Maple 11. Tick label formats were just one of the things improved.

On the Maple website, there is a page that addresses at least the basic changes and "what's new" for Maple releases 6-11.

I find this info so limited and biased that is close to useless. In particular, something so basic as new (sub)packages introduced in each version, is not even mentioned in most cases.

I think that a casual reader of this page would get an image of Maple and its evolution much more poor than reality.

I think that it would be very useful a page in the Maplesoft site containing a table feature vs Maple version where it was introduced/upgraded. It is basically putting together the titles of the pages ?updates,vxx. So, not much work.
