I have a very strange bug with Maple 16. When I try to start it, Maple loads its shell and starts to consume 100% CPU (maple.exe, not mserver.exe). If I try to calculate something, it throws something like "waiting for server connection". In 3 to 10 minutes Maple suddenly stops doing this and then works normally until I reboot Windows. What's this? Maple 16.0, Windows XP SP3.

PS. I do not have such bugs on my home PC with Windows XP SP2.

I just updated to 16.02, and now the (writing) cursor has horrible problems, especially in text groups. Basically, it is erratic or unmoveable.

In a text group, if I move a cursor down by pressing <enter>, it will not move up with the arrow keys, or it disappears and then appears in previous groups. or a new cursor appears in the line above, but the old cursor remains, or ...

In an execution group, it does a lot of the same things, but not quite as erratic.

Based on past releases, after Dec 31 any hope of a 16.03 update becomes very very slim. 

You see, any last issued updates (back to Maple 11) have all happened before the turn of the new year.  And should we make it into the new year without one last update then we can almost be certain that Maplesofts focus is all on the next major release, Maple 17.

There is always hope, that a few more loose ends can be tied up before the next major release, however...

Mathematica 9 was just released Nov 28 which caused me, of course, to have a look to see what wolfram has done in way of comparing itself to maple. 

Perhaps we can discuss, compare, debunk, clarify some of their claims or perhaps dismiss the results altogether

Here is one speed comparison chart I came across.  Is it relavent?  It shows Maple 16 as the worst performer.

I installed the Maple 16 in Windows 8 and it works in command line mode. But for worksheet mode, it freezes once you open the Maple and can only be closed in task manager. Any quick way to solve this problem? thanks

I have a HOMEUSE licence including Maple 15, MapleSim 5, with Driveline and Tyre Libraries. Does anyone know when the intergated Maple 16 / MapleSim 6 will be release for upgrade?

Hi. i just installed Maple 16 on my computer, but i doesnt work. Everytime i try to open it, it just loads forever. i Tried to install maple 16 32 and 64 bit, without any luck. I have tried to run it as administrator, and in combability mode, still nothing.

I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

The way Maple handles highlighting is very strange; if I want to highlight (and copy or delete) part of an expression, or maybe something nested within a command, it frequently highlights things I don't want it to and never put my cursor near. Someone asked how to create this in Maple. 

There is a flaw (bug) in the DEplot routine.  If you load the plottools package before using DEplot with the arrows=line option, the DEplot routine tries to use the line definition from the plottools package.  A worksheet illustrating this problem is below.

When using "plotsetup(png,...)" the third rotational angle is ignored.  Attached are a worksheet and the corresponding three plots that demonstrate this bug.

... is finance.dll missing in Maple16 (64 bit), as it was in Maple15 (64 bit), so you have to install the 32 bit version instead?

Is it possible to move the finance.dll-file from Maple16(32-bit) to Maple16(64-bit)?

I need to solve some  transcendental equations, using Maple 16 which i need to transform or bind with java later. My problem is I cant evaluate.

Equation I would like to evaluate is  offcourse I  defined m and M, prior to c.
Both  eval(k) and evalf (k)  only return k,  I need value for further calculations.
