I am using Maple 15 and every time I try to plot this equation it doesnt seem to want to plot. This is the code I keep trying to input:

plot(3*e^(-x)*x-e^(-x)-1.5*e^(-x)*(x^2)+e^(-x)*(x^2)*log(x),x=0..9,y=-1..0.6);

Every time I get "Plotting Error, empty plot"

The equation came from the original differential equation .5(d^2y/dx^2)+(dy/dx)+.5y(x)=ln(x)e^(-x)

Also When i try to plot this equation:

-.5*e^(-10*x)*sin(10*x)-.5*e^(-10*x)*cos(10*x)+(3/2)=300

I have two differential equations describing a solar sail in 2D.

One is my radial direction and one is the tangential direction.

I have plotted r(t) and theta(t) but I want r(theta) so I have assigned my two differential equations and initial conditions, have my two plots for r and theta in terms of t and then I have used the following command to plot in polar coordinates:

z'=k(1/2-z)(1/3-z), where k=0.3.

So i had worked in Mathematica before and i know that it would look something like that in there:

eqn1 = 0 == k (1/2 - z[t]) (1/3 - z[t])

DSolve[Evaluate[{eqn1}], z[t]].

But i have no idea how to find this 90%. I hope that someone will...

I just realised Maple is allowed for my upcoming exam after New Year.

My plan is to have templates of the most common math problems, I might encounter for quick solutions.

Anyway, I have run into a problem with Laplace shifted data, particularly initial value problems. I have been searching for HOURS, and feel like I have look up everything on google, maplesoft and other sites without succes.

I hope some of you are able to help me. The exercise is:

I am working on a Maple project and it require me to pass a differential equation in a specific order like

x'=y & y'=x^2.(It is differentaiting w.r.t 't'(say))

However when I convert the equation into string it converts something as

diff(x(t),t)=y(t) & diff(y(t),t)=x(t)^2

Is there any way to stop maple from evaluating into maple/math format?

Is there any way to pass an equation without changing it's existing form?...

I was trying to find the generalized eigenvalues for the (3x3) matrix pair (P,G) defined below. (I have left everything in symbols with beta and kappa both of which are strictly positive real numbers). For some reason the command Eigenvalues(P,G) is only returning 2 generalized eigenvalues. Any ideas why it doesn't return 3?
