Items tagged with spam

Below I have pasted the recent post of a spammer who's title was http://

First of all, I thought those spam filters had taken care of those.
Secondly why isn't there an http:// with a zero rating user poster filter on this forum yet?

When I made the suggestions about new ways to delete spam, I specifically requested that there be no confirmation dialogs. I even emphasized it. But I see that there is such a dialog. Was the author of the spam asked to confirm whether they wanted to make the post? So you're saying that my time is worth less than the spammer's. Every time that I need to answer that dialog, it's an insult, a slap in the face direct from Maplesoft.

I don't understand why the spam issue has not been resolved yet.  A ton of spam this morning!

Here's some more help.

Any title or question of a post containing http:// should be automatically deleted.

Clearly there is a name generator in place somewhere creating new accounts.  Is there not some kind of higher security name creation account done here at mapleprimes?  Ironically you would think this being a math type forum it would be hard to spam.

Couldn't any question with title beginning with http be removed automatically? There has been quite a few containing nothing but spam.

As some of you have previously mentioned, we have seen an increase in the amount of spam on MaplePrimes over the past few months. We recently took steps to improve it in a recent update that has so far proven helpful, and have also increased our behind-the-scenes efforts to proactively remove and block spam accounts.

Today we made a couple of additional minor changes to member profiles that should help further. Specifically, members can no longer enter HTML tags in the biography, 'technical interests/fields', and 'other interests' sections within their profiles. Spammers were co-opting these areas to create links back to their sites, and it is our hope that MaplePrimes will become much less attractive to them now that the capability has been removed.

In addition, we de-activated a large number of accounts (with 0 reputation) that were using these fields for spam. Prior to taking this action, we reviewed the records we were deactivating, and did not see any evidence of legitimate members. However, there is a small chance that we blocked a legitimate account in the process of doing this. If this has occurred to you, please accept my apologies and send an e-mail to and we will reactivate it quickly.

The last ten posts I see are spam!

Isn't it possible to stop them from spaming this Forum?

A lot of spam coming in is from the same users.  It seems automated.  These are some repeating offenders

Those are to name a few.

Higher power mapleprime users can delete posts,...

Why is it possible for to continue posting spam ? It is incredibly irritating for me, and I presume it must be for other bona fide users. Why can't the account be disabled, made inactive, or whatever is necessary to stop this ridiculous activity ?

I will never understand, why spam postings are deleted - but the user is not locked or trashed.

Today again the same is flooding again.

Check out most of the active conversations.
