Dear Maple users,

I have very interesting problem with evaluating of only symbolic equations.

The problem is: (In document mode)
When I try to evaluate all numeric values for example typing 1+2 and press Enter it successfuly evaluates 3.
But when I try to evaluate symbolic values for example x + y nothing happens.

I tried lots of things to solve this, but no luck.
Shortly if the equation contains only numbers it evaluates successfuly.
And if the equation contains one or more symbolic variables like (x, y, z, variable1, test1), it does nothing.

What could be the problem?

(Because of this problem I cannot use the document mode, so I'm using the worksheet mode. Worksheet mode works good, but sometimes it is not calculating like document mode)

System is Windows 7 x64
Maple 2016
8 x 3.50GHz Xeon CPU
128 GB RAM
Windows Language is Turkish, (I tried with also USA English, but no luck either)
Keyboard is Turkish TR, (I tried with also US English, but no luck either)

I am new in Maple and I would like to create some worksheets and applications based on ones found already on the Maple sites. Is there any way to see how they have been created? To see and modify the coding where necessary? Your help would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your support.

Please is it possible to increase the 1000000 limit of output? I tried doing some computation in form of power series for S10 but I got the message "1000000 limit of output exceeced". How can I resolve this?

How to view the source code for a created .mv file in Maple?

My program have more than 100 subsections. It is tedious to close them after run.

How is it possible the maple do not open those subsections I specified, during running the program?

Is it possible to close subsections abruptly?

How is it possible to stop Maple from running, in specific line of program when using execute the entire worksheet???

How can i copy paste some differential equations with boundary conditions from maple work sheet to here

I have a document containing notes from my past semester, which will not open properly. When i try to open up the document maple asks if i want to retrieve the content as plain text, 2D-math or maple input. The document is written in document mode and contains both text and 2D math. When I try to open it in plain text, maple gives me nothing, and with the two other options, maple is just loading forever. Can anybody help me retrieve the content og fix the document?

I am teaching math i high school and we are using Maple.

A lot of times the students forget to save their work. This is a problem if it is during a test, and the computer runs into problems.

The problem is that their document is called Untitled and i have a problem finding the file.

The file that Maple usually creates is MAS.BAK file, but when they forget to save, I can't seem to find anything.

The problem occurs in both MAC computers as well as PC.

Can anyone help.

"There were problems during the loading process. Your worksheet may be incomplete."

I have seen threads where this has been solved, but i do not know how to do it.

It happened to both files, after restarting my computer.

Are anyone willing to help me?

I use Maple worksheet mode (not document mode). When I have a long line of code, or when I display some Maple source code, and if the line do not fit the current window size, the line will wrap to the next line, and make it hard to read the code.

Is there a way to configure the setting do that Maple keeps long line on same line and then I can use the horizontal scroll bar if I want to see the full line. This way the code is easier to read for me.

I looked at OPTIONS->DISPLAY and no see no such option. I also looked at few other options.

Here is a screen shot of what  I mean. Line 165 is too long and it wraps for example

A number of MaplePrimers have asked how one might use the section and subsections of a Maple worksheet to structure the source code of an extended Maple package.  The usual answer is that it cannot be done; a module-based Maple package must be assigned in a single input region in a worksheet.  A recommended alternative is to write the source in text files and use either command line tools or the Maple read command from a worksheet to assign the package.  Because the read command handles Maple preprocessor macros, specifically the $include macro, the source can be conveniently split into smaller files.

I prefer this file-based method for development because text files are generally more robust than Maple worksheets, can be edited with the user's preferred editor, can be put under version control, and can be searched and modified by standard Unix-based tools.  However, not everyone is familiar with this method of development.  With that in mind, I wrote a small Maple package, CodeBuilder, that permits splitting the source of a Maple package (or any Maple code) into separate code edit regions in a standard Maple worksheet, using $include macros to include the source of other regions.  To build the package, the code edit regions are written to external files, using the names of the regions as the local file name relative to a temporary directory.

The package includes a method to run mint on the source code.  The result can be either printed in the worksheet or displayed in a pop-up maplet that allows selecting the infolevel and the region to check.

CodeBuilder includes help pages and a simple example (referenced from the top-level help page) demonstrating the usage.  To install the package, unzip the attached zip file and follow the directions in the README file.

Errata Just noticed that a last minute change broke some of the code.  Do not bother with the 1-0-1 version; I'll upload a new version shortly.  The latest version (1-0-3) is now available.

Hi everybody,

I am working with Maple 2015.2 ; system = OS X El Capitan
I would like to compare the outputs of two files by using  the Worksheet:-Comparator command file contains this single instruction
> a:=1; contains this single instruction
> a := 2;

Both us are located on my desktop, which is also my current directory in the worksheet from which I am going to run the comparison.

MyDir := cat(currentdir(), "/Desktop/");
OriginalFile := cat(MyDir, ""):
ModifiedFile := cat(MyDir, ""):

# to verify that all is going well I use these two commands
# Worksheet:-DisplayFile(OriginalFile):
# Worksheet:-DisplayFile(ModifiedFile):

Running the  command  Worksheet:-Comparator(OriginalFile, ModifiedFile) returns me error messages :
The first one is  (after having selected  "compare" and next "run" in the Comparator Maplet)

and the second one (after having cliked ont the "OK" button" on this alert window)

Note that the same thing happens if I use Worksheet:-Comparator() and select the two files with the browsers
Could you please help me to understand what happens ?

Thanks in advance

If I go to the menu under file and open.  Or similarily CRTL-o opens the file query dialog box.

Can I do this crtl-o programmatically?

How would I programmatically open a maple worksheet?

I thought this would work but it brought up a -1
