In using Maple there are many ways to complete a command on a function. Using shortcuts in the worksheet/document you can enter the command on the line rather than using the drop down menus or clickable math menu.  I would like to see what the shortcut command are for the packages in Maple.  There are so many, I am using the LinearAlgebra package and have seen Dr. Lopez use " ||A||2 to determine the Euclidean Norm of A.  But where does this use get described in the help or examples of other shortcut usage for Maple. I've seen the shortcut commands for Documents in General, but the use of shortcut commands for other packages  don't seem to discuss the usage of such shortcuts.

Is there a document that documents these shortcuts.

" there were problems during the loading process. your worksheet may be incomplete"

I have seen some other people having this problem, I have tried to erase the bad characters myself but I can't seem to do it right. Can someone pleeeease help me? :(

rather than last time saved file result?

When I open maple script file, it display the result which file created.

however, not the latest result

it need to move cursor to the end of script and press enter again.

I'm an educator (physicist) who has migrated to Maple because of the lower "activation barrier" to get something of interest produced by the student. The students in my courses are exposed to several language (Python, C++, Java) and mathematical systems (Mathematica, Maple, MATLAB.) Many claim that unless forced to used a particular language or system, their first choice is Python and Maple for the reason I cite.

As a consequence, it is my experience that students truly perfer the math-like appearance of the 2-D Math notation as opposed to the Maple notation. They see it as more natural - again with a lower activation barrier. Hence I see no reason to change. However, I would be interested in reasons why it might be beneficial.

My ultimate question is: do I start them with worksheet mode or documents mode? I'm use to worksheet mode and have found the call and response method easy for them to understand. But document mode has many valuable benefits. Is it worth the increase in learning (and frustration) for the benefits if the students use the software only a few times per semester? Or for some, every week?

I would be interested in hearing about the experiences of other educators.

I am a new user. I have a worksheet and need to see how the the procs are being accessed as it does not look like they are being called and executed as I would expect. What is the most efficient way to debug and see the calling order of my Procs?

Thanks in advance,

How difficult is it to simulate gravitational influences and perturbing effects on celestial orbits with Maple? Could this syntax be altered without excessive changes to consider these aspects?

Are there somewhere worksheets to take a look at as an introduction and to see how such goals would be approached and implemented?

Maple is a scientific software based on Computational Algebraic System (SAC) which has enabled this work entirely solve applied to Civil Engineering, Mechanical and Mecatrónica. The present problems in education, research and engineering are developed with static work sheets ie coding used innecesaria.Maple proposed models are shown below with an innovative structure; with the method of graphics algorithms and embedded components; putting aside the traditional and obsolete syntax; using dynamic worksheets as viable and optimal solutions to interpret and explain problems Ingineering.Design Advanced Analysis Tools (Applied Mathematics) Sophisticated Applications (efficient algorithms) and Multiple deployment options (different styles); this allowed generate math apps (applications engineering); can be interactive on the internet without the need to have the software installed on our computer; This way our projects can be used with a vision of sustainability around the world. Resulting in the generation of data and curves; which in turn will help you make better decisions analytical and predictive modeling in manufacturing and 3D objects; which would lead to new patterns of contrasting solutions.

In a worksheet, I have defined several long procedures. In order to simplify my worksheet, I would like define thes procedures in a package so as to call theses procedures from the package. It should enable to improve the readability of my worksheet.

However, i have never make a custom package. Can you detail me the main steps so as to create a custom package ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I'm trying to export a worksheet to Latex. I'm able to exprot it. But the long equations are not broken into multiple lines. I have used Mathlinebreaking width 5.0 inch in the export option. But it still does not work. I can see the linebreaking command (\\) in the tex file. But when I compile my latex code the pdf does not have any linebreak. The equation just overflows. Any help will be appreciated.

Just starting some work on numerical engineering solutions by going through a workbook, which includes a Maple Document on CD (with one and several .mws files).

As I don't have acces to a Maple system, I downloaded Maple Player. However - Maple Player will only accept .mw and .mwz files(at least that shows up on 'FILE>OPEN'); so trying to open an .mws file results in - NOTHING. In your forum I found some information that .mwz is a nonpublic Maple format !?...... Now I don't see a way to work with PLAYER. Isn't PLAYER meant for exactly that scenario - sharing MAPLE worksheets ?

So - what to do ?

Thanks for some hint,

In order to improve the readability of a worksheet, I would like to insert in text lines the equations that I calculate after with a input maple.

Is it possible to add in a text line equations and symbols as we can make with Latex or MathType ? For example, i would be interested to write vectors in a text line.

Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to obtain a nice indentation with a automatic process? Do you have some tips on this subject?

My objective is to improve the indentation of my code so as to make my worksheet easier to read.

Thank you for your help.

I tried to load my document containing some notes, but then I got the message "There were problems during the loading process, Your worksheet may become incomplete", and as the message said my worksheet were incomplete. Is there a way to restore the document? I have tried following this and added the line it suggested:

But it didn't work.

I have attached the file.

Using worksheet, in 2015. I have an execution group, such as

>... another execution group

And want to copy all the code from the first group, using the mouse. Is there another way, other than having to move the mouse by hand and select all the code in order to copy it?  In Mathematica, I can right-click on the cell edge, and select copy. This copies the cell to the buffer, then one can paste the code somewhere else. In Maple, I could not duplicate this behaviour which is annoying when one wants to copy large amount of code.

I found that if I put the code in a "code edit region", ie., do insert->code edit region, then right-click inside the small window of the code edit region, the copy is enabled, so I can copy the whole region without manually select it first.

But this does not work outside the code edit region.

This is really weird.

Does any one see a "||" in the above? I do not. Then why Maple shows this:

r := cat("dsolve(",eq,",y(x))");

This is Maple 2015 on windows. Running in worksheet mode

Here is screen shot

This problem does not show up all the time. For example, this works ok:

No "||" added. The problem with all the above, is that I can't make it all as a string in the first example above. I am trying to make a string of   "dsolve(" + ode + "),y(x)"

Here is the display options

thank you
