So I thought it would be cool to go buy Vista, not thinking that some of my favorite applications won't work in it. So is there a way to install Maple 10 on Vista Home Premium? If so, any help on that would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I could go a full day without Maple capabilities.
Thanks!
Brandon
Maple on Vista
Maple 10 is not officially supported on Vista, but here are some tips on installing Maple 10 on Windows Vista that have worked for other people:

It looks like the best way is to log on as an administrator and run the installer in XP compatibility mode. You may have to wait a long time for the installer to complete, but it should work.
I have installed the Beta Version of Maple 11 on Vista and the installer appears to work much better (though some problems with shortcuts still need to be worked out). Vista is not going to be a supported platform when Maple 11 first comes out, but we plan on updating Maple shortly afterwards to give it full Vista compatibility.

Thank you!
Thanks, it seems to be working now. Do you know when the fix for Vista will approximately be available? Thanks again for your help!
Fix
We don't know exactly when we will be able to update Maple 11 to fully support Vista. But it is going to be our top priority after launching Maple 11.

Really?
Maple 11 will ship without Vista support?! Wow. I am speechless. [And that doesn't happen often].
Yup!
I agree. I was told in one of their Webinars that Maple 11 is ready for Vista, but I guess not. Also, the compatibility mode is not working to install Maple 10 on my Vista computer. Any suggestions? I have tried the Win XP SP 2 compatibility, how long am I supposed to be waiting?

Same problem here..
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
Solution
What you need to do is turn off Aero and switch to Classic view in display properties. Make sure to run your install as XP SP2 compatible and everything should work. Let me know if it doesn't.

Thanks a lot!!!
Thanks a lot!!!
xp vs vista
I returned my Vista computer- too many problems I just didn't want to deal with. I've been very satisfied with the XP operating system for many years. I purchased a superfast XP computer from Gateway. Dell is also still selling XP computers.
