In new Primes, users are able to delete or edit their posts as long as the posts haven't received any comments or answers yet. The delete and edit options are loaded via JavaScript and appear shortly after the page finishes loading, so that's why they appeared after the page loaded. The problems with delete working were likely related to the launch problems we had. That issue should be fixed when we launch again.

We haven't spent any time targeting getting new Primes to work well on mobile devices. However, since we simplified the interface and moved to only one sidebar, the new site likely will look better on mobile devices.

As I said, the only login that will work for you is your main "Axel Vogt" account. I only granted access to your main account, so your other account won't work.

I have already uploaded the fix for speeding up the editor. Can you please try posting to the beta site to see if things are improved?

Yes, we will be running another round of import of posts before the new site launches. The database currently being used for the beta of the new site will be deleted. We are currently importing into a new database that we'll use for the final version of new MaplePrimes.

Thank you for your feedback, Regarding speed of typing in a comment. We believe this is due to your dial-up connection. We hadn't tested the site on a slower connection, so didn't notice this behavior. We have a fix in mind, that we'll be uploading to the beta site soon. The fixed width of the new site is a design decision. There are two reasons for this decision: First, it is easier to read text in narrower columns. This is why newspapers are organized into narrow columns, it is easier for the eye to scan the shorter width. The second reason, it that this makes it easier for both the designers of MaplePrimes, and the people posting to MaplePrimes to know what their content is going to look like on the site. Since the width is always the same, when people Preview their post, they will know exactly what it will look like regardless of the width of the user's browser. Regarding rating content on new MaplePrimes. We have mechanisms to ensure that users cannot down vote all content from a certain other user, so you don't have to worry about others destroying your reputation. Also, the rating is not used for ranking search results, so posts will not disappear based on their ranking. Also, the font size is almost identical on both sites. Try looking at them side-by-side. Finally, since new MaplePrimes is written on 100% our own code, it is easy for us to continue to customize and update the site as it is used. The site that will be launching soon, is likely going to be very different in several months time. We plan to continually tweak the site based on usage and user feedback so that we can ensure that everyone finds the site useful and enjoyable to use.
