Hello, We are hoping that MaplePrimes can provide all of the functionality that you would like for a Maple wiki. The site does not currently allow users to edit any page on the site (However this is in the works). But the Collaborative Books are open so that anyone can add new pages to the books. Do you have something in mind that you would like to use the Wiki for? I would be glad to help you start anything that you have in mind. I look forward to hearing your ideas, ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
MapleNET uses Java to display the plots. Do you have it installed in your browser? You can get it here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
It looks like this is a bug in Drupal (the software behind MaplePrimes). I was able to fix the problem by changing Братва's user name. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
The way that a worksheet appears on MApleNET is exlusively due to the way that MapleNET deals with worksheets. All that the MaplePrimes file manager does is copy files over to a MapleNET server, it does not modify the workshseets in any way. As for a way to make the tables look better, I would suggest making the tables smaller. MapleNET formats the worksheets using the same code as Maple uses for its HTML export. Try loading your worksheet and choosing File->Export As and choose HTML. The tables will likely be squished in the same way. Try moving around your tables until you get a good look. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
All of the warnings that you recieve are due to MapleNET. This is how any MapleNET server would behave. Thus, if you have any problems with the MapleNET server, please post them in the Maple T.A., MapleNET, Toolboxes and other products forum where the MapleNET developers will be looking for suggestions and comments. As for access to your files that you do not want to have appear publicly: Files that are uploaded are not shared anywhere on the site until you specifially post the information about the file into a posting somewhere on MaplePrimes. Thus, you don't have to worry about people finding your temporary files as they would have to guess at URL. Does this solve your concern? Or would you still prefer to see an actual deletion facility? ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
Hello, I am sorry to hear that you are having problems viewing the site at your resolution. The site was designed for use at a resolution of 1024x768 or higher. And according to the logs for this site, the vast majority of our users fit into that category. As I mentioned earlier, there is a redisign of the site underway and that may solve your problem. I will pass your concern on to the designer. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
I have not allowed uses to delete files so that they do not break any hyperlinks that they have created. For example, if you uploaded a worksheet and then posted a link to that worksheet in a blog entry. I don't want you to delete the worksheet because that would cause someone reading your blog to not be able to access the worksheet that you were referring to. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
The File manager will upload Maple worksheets over to the MapleNET server. So anything that is done within a worksheet can be done on MapleNET. Currently, the live worksheet feature does not support launching Maplets. All plots, including 3-D and animations are supported. There is a timeout on long computations. If you would like examples I suggest you check out this site, it contains many demonstrations on what can be done with MapleNET. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
Hello, I'm glad you are happy with the views that you content is getting. As for the profiles, again, this is a module for Drupal which I did not create. There is a new version of Drupal that should be coming out in the near future. Perhaps your features will be fixed there. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
We currently have a web designer at Maplesoft looking into cleaning up the look of MaplePrimes. Hopefully this will solve your problem as well. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
This might be an easy feature to add, I'll definitely look into it. It definitely could be an extension to the file manager that I just added to the site. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
The conversion of Maple code and MathML is done by calling a function on a MapleNET server. Unfortunately, MapleNET does not currently support TeX or LaTeX. Adding TeX functionality would be a difficult problem to solve. A feature that I plan to add in the coming months is a 2D editor that should allow you to create any Math that you desire without the use of any markup. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
The private message feature of MaplePrimes is an addon to Drupal that I added to MaplePrimes. I can look into adding this functionality, but there are many other feature requests that I will be looking into first. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
Hello, Thank you for you comments, I'll reply to each of your comments by their number: 1. I'm surprised that I did not allow <p%> and <br%> for postings. I just added them to the list of allowed tags. 2. I can see your problem with losing posts, there are other people who have also raised concerns about this. A simple fix for you is when you click on a link is to hold down the SHIFT key, this will cause your web browser to open the link in a new browser window. As for automatically saving a draft version, this is a very difficult problem to solve. I will add it to my Todo list. 3. MaplePrimes is based on an open source program called Drupal. What can be done in Drupal can be done in MaplePrimes, currently the signature is only for comments. I will look into having it also be inserted into Forum postings and Blog entries. 4. I plan on creating a rich text editor for MaplePrimes that would solve this problem and may others as well. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
If you aren't happy with the results that you get from MaplePrimes's built-in search, you should try going to search.maplesoft.com. The search there is powered by the Google search engine and it indexes MaplePrimes every night. You might have better luck there. As for saving the web pages, you are correct that this is a difficult problem, but I will think about a solution. ____ William Spaetzel Applications Developer, Maplesoft
