On http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_RC_1_Software_Compatibility_List I read another solution for me (Vista Ultimate, 32 bit), that worked fine. Run it in compatible mode with windows 2000 and run it in administrator. This requires no waiting other than the usual waiting times the installer requires on other platforms. Every step you should do: -Be sure you're logged in as an administrator on your windows version. -Locate the setupfile. (in my case, the name is InstallMaple10.exe) -Rightclick on it. -Choose 'properties', at the bottom. -Select the Tab called compatibility by leftclicking on it one time. -Make the uppercheckbox active by clicking once. Choose from the scrolldown menu the option Windows 2000. -Activate the checkbox at the bottom (run as administrator). When done correctly, your window may look like this: click here to see the image -Left-click on Apply -Left-click on OK The properties window closes now. -Rightclick on the install application again, just like the third step. -Choose the second option: Run as administrator. -Wait for a few seconds. A security popup of windows will show itself. Press on continue. The installer will run now perfectly the way it should. By the activation it states somewhere you're windows 2000. Ignore this line: you are in Vista but the compatibility mode fools the installer, that is why it works ;-) After the installation, Maple 10 works fine over here. I see no reason why it shouldn't work at any other version of windows Vista. Hopefully I've saved a lot of time for some of you. Yours, Mart PS. I might have given false translations of Vista 'cause I'm on the Dutch version of Vista.
