These are questions asked by C_R

I'm trying to get familiar with the Physics package. It's huge.  Since I know vector projection, I can guess what a projected vector might be. But what would a non-projected vector be in a physical context?

A web search for non-projected vectors was unsuccessful.

My best guess is that non-projected vectors in Maple are those where no coordinate system is specified for vectors in an expression for a physical law. Like here in Maxwell equations. Am I correct?

To distinguish between these vectors the Physics[Vector] package uses an underscore “_”.

If my understanding is correct so far, I have three questions:

  • Can I replace the unit vectors of implemented projected vectors to something else (e.g. _i to e__x)
  • Is it possible to define projected vectors beyond what is implemented in Maple?
  • Can I use the packages VectorCalculus and Physics[Vector] at the same time?

For the simulation of a microcontroller I am looking for discrete components like AD and DA converters, filters, differentiators, integrators.

The plant to be controlled is built with components from the MapleSim 2022 component library.

If there are no libraries that are compatible with the current version of MapelSim, I wonder if there is something that could be customized.

Any insights on the subject are welcome.

I was about to use a compact piece of code (subs(x =~ x(t), [d])) that makes names xi in an expression d functions of t (where i is a nonnegative integer); i.e. :
   xi -> xi(t)

The code works inside a procedure but not when passed as Maple input (see attachment).

What is the reason that it works at all?  Can my current way of replacing names by functions be improved?

Maple offers the dimension “lenght” whereas MapleSim offers two types.

What is the difference between the two types length and distance?

Can they always be used interchangeably?

In a Maple session I have several worksheets open. When I click on the close cross of a worksheet tab the following can happen:

Closing the worksheet next to it works as normal

This occurs irregularly. For far I could not make it reproducible to report it to Maplesoft support. Anyone has seen something like this or ideas what the cause could be?
