Sorry Robert I think I meant to say that the profit function   profit := F(e(w)*L)-w*L is concave (quadratic)

as seen further down on this page. hummm I am not sure if  the production function F(e(w)*L) is concave...

sorry my mistake...everything became very complicated suddenly.

I want to find a profit function which has a maximum where isolate(diff(prof, w) = 0, w) = -b/(lambda-1)  and

parameter stability with respect to lambda.

Unfortunately I want the interactive prompt while this code is executing.

Let say I wanted to do the yahoo finance countdown clock.

Then I would first of all need Maple to continuously download some data from the yahoo finance server

which I guess could be achived with Maple 13 but it would also be nice to be able to shut down the countdown

clock when ever the user wants to. So then I would need some interactive component that could shutdown the

loop while it is running which I guess Maple 13 can not handle. It would also be nice to be able to display the

data in some mathcontainer while the loop is running which is continuously updated which again Maple 13 cannot handle.

Another reason why asynchronious updates are highly important might be the "Interrupt the current operation"

might become much more effective. As of now when you push that button nothing happens the loop just

continues to run and if you have a bad or infinit loop you only option is the "task Manager" and force Maple to shutdown.

"Maybe you shouldn't have placed your faith in Maple in the first place."

Amen to that !

"Maple's not going to help clean my house in preparation for Thanksgiving"

Ha, ha are you sure ?  Have you tried ?

"Does this come any closer to what you are trying to achieve?"

Yes it is in the right directions. However I think we are waisting our time here. I think again the problem

is that the " interface between the kernel and the GUI in Maple 13 cannot handle asynchronious updates"

www.mapleprimes.com/blog/dohashi/loadbalancingandthreadmanagement#comments

We can try how hard we want but in the end it is just impossible due to the way the kernel was designed,

"Can you let us know the bigger picture in which your problem exists?"

There are exist numerous examples where this would be a valuable feature. The first one that springs to mind

is a countdown clock. Yahoo finance has the time until the markets opens on there website . I wanted to design

a Maple worksheet where I can but some code in the startupcode which continuously checks and displays the

time until the market opens. I would also like to have a if command included there so when the coundown goes

to zero the loop should automatically starting to download data from the yahoo finance server.

Another example could be a simple digital clock application in Maple which displays the current time while the

user can do other things simulationsly such as entering commands, etc etc . However, I think I will do all this

in Visual Basic instead because Maple is just giving me a headache

I had a look at your link but I still fail to see how this can be done successfully in my case.

I have asked a similar question previously ( updating a mathcontainer)  www.mapleprimes.com/forum/multithreadingloops

and the answer was that it is not possible. I suspect that this "infinite while loop with flow control back, while it ran" is

not possible either. I am seriously starting to lose my faith in Maple

ha, ha yes that worked. thanx :-) . I thought it would not work without print which clearly was a misperception

Acer yes that is quite interesting ! Good job !

Hopefully I will find some time to try to understand what you have done.

Maybe you could post a worksheet at the application center with some explanations to your steps ?!

True. I was thinking about security as well. Frequently walking to and from the casino with 20000 or more might not be a good idea. But you also have the option of playing craps and roulette online.

I think it sounds cool :-)

"Maple Master Badge” for answering 25 Maple-related questions with each getting at least 5 up-votes."

Sounds like a challenge....

No I think the speed is ok now :-) Which is good!  I guess I was referring to the pre-server-change period.
