I managed to solve it. Just right click on the maple worksheet and select
"Send To"  -> desktop (create shortcut) and then rightclick on the shortcut
and select "properties" you can access the Run-Minimized setting.... sweet

humm well the problem seems to be that the shortcut fil (.LNK) points directly
to the exe fil and not the maple worksheet hence I can launch maple minimized
but not the maple worksheet....always problems problems

humm that is very interesting :-)
I wonder if I could create a shortcut (.lnk) file for maple.exe so it execute a maple
worksheet minimized (which has some code in the auto-start section which
updates a datatable component located in that file)

The only thing standing in my way is a "save and exit command in maple" which
I need to put in the end of the auto-start section.

Then I can simply schedual the start of the .LNK in windows and the rest is history he he

thank you joe! I will have a look at that.

I think I manage to solve it a little bit differently.
I exported my worksheet as a mpl fil (XL.mpl) and set
windows to open it by default with cmaple.

Then when I click on XL.mpl the command-line-maple opens,
execute the code and the shuts down :-) As I wanted.

Now can I put any code in the XL.mpl that I dont want the command-line-
maple-window to open when I double click on the file (the code should be
executed of course when I click on XL.mpl)?

It would be cool if there were a way to execute a closed maple worksheet.

Like a setting on the file "dont launch GUI" and when you click on the maple
file all the content code is executed and saved but the GUI is not opened

It would be great if all hotkeys in maple like ctrl+s or alt+f4 etc had
programmatic counterparts like H[ctrl+s] or H[alt+f4] for example

If you type quit is Maple you get:

Error, done/quit/stop disabled. Please use File->Close

hummm I wonder why they were made disabled.
I kind of need those commands!

ha ha this is so fun but also a major time waister (compare to writing journal articles
which a productive but so utterly boring)

Deep in my heart I prefer the fun. There are a lot of "special" project that you can do
with Maple unfortunately you wont get a nobel price by doing them but who cares
I got my rent paid and food on the plate, it could be worse!

Actually on second thought what I need is a command in maple
that can scheduled tasks ie everyday at 9:00 am do this....

Then I can use the embeded datatable to save the data...
