Question: Intermittent font issue

I have an intermittent font issue in Maple 15 on Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5.

Every-so-often it happens that certain characters do not show in the Maple output. These are usually greek characters or somewhat more exotic mathematical symbols. I do shuffle file back & forth between my systems which are Maple 15 and OS X 10.4.11 and 10.5.8. Java id 1.5 on both of these. Occasionally, a file may also get to a machine running Maple 17 on 10.6.8 with Java 1.6, but that is rare and I have cases where that particular system is not involved.

Right now e.g. I am looking at a file which I created on M15/OS X 10.4.11 and the Greek letter "rho" did not show when I created the worksheet (from scratch). Copying it to the 10.5.8 system (also M15), the output is fine, rho and all; even before evaluating the sheet. Once evaluated, the rho is still there.

All of these are complete Maple installations from the esp. original disks, so any font Maple installs should be present and identical on all systems. I know the characters are there in the output (and the results are otherwise correct). Zooming in and out does not seem to make a difference.

This may have been discussed here before, but I cannot find any reference to a solution.
