And how about the 4th powers? They can definitely come out of the root as:

aDb ( 1/cos^2(g)cos^2(b)) sqrt (.......) .

This is more weird due to the guaranteed positive values.

However I still think Maple should be "smarter" and take the |x| and |Db| out of the root.

And this would be a very legitimate algebraic answer. sqrt(x^2) = |x| for all x Real.

Is it because as I read somewhere, the default is Imaginary for Maple?
