A Nasty Function

Why is the following function such a problem to differentiate?

A := 1/(8*cos(`θ`)*(sin(`θ`))(sin(`θ`)+cos(`θ`))^2)

And, why isn't Maple able to replace D(sin(theta)) with cos(theta)? See the worksheet.
