Question:Plot values from a matrix in a greyscale grid

I have a matrix, typically 40 x 40, of numerical values.
 
I would like to plot these values as a grey scale grid with a different intensity of grey for each value in the relevant position in the matrix.   
 
In Maple 10 DensityPlot produces the sort of output that I  want but I only seem to be to get DensityPlot to work with a function. I have not been able to get this to work for a matrix of values.
 
Any thoughts much appreciated.
