Hi everyone!

  I have something I would like maple to compute for me, but I am not sure how to enter it.  Here is the situation:

 

I have 4 equations with 5 unknowns.  I would like maple to solve for 4 of the unknowns.  Eventually I need 1 unknown in terms of just one other unknown.  An example would be

 

0=a0+a1+2a2                     eq(1)

0=a0+2a1+6a2                   eq(2)

 

Solving the first can yield :  a0=-a1-2a2      eq(3)

Substituting eq(3) into eq(2) yields:   a1=-4a2

Now that I have a1 in terms of just one other unknown.  I can use this result to write a0 in terms of a2.

 

I would like to do this on a larger scale in maple.  Doe anyone know how?  Thanks for taking the time to read.
