i got a problem. I got a list "L" of 3d points [[x1,y1,z1],[x2,y2,z2],..[xi,yi,zi]](in maple), i can easily plot the with pointplot3d(L, axis=normal) but i would need to have them plotted in a contourplot (not the 3D one but the 2d) with contourlines at every full number (1,2,3..highest z value) (well i wont get higher z values then 20)

could you plz tell me how to do that ?

Nr:=5:

this one works fine but when I want descending order, i.e,

p:=2*Vector[column]([$Nr..0])+ConstantVector[column](1,Nr+1);

it is not working. I would appreciate the suggestions.

I have an excel file with 10 columns by 10008 rows, the first one represent the time and the others represents some measuremts. And I would like to plot the columns which represent the measurements versus the first column which represent the time in Maple.

I have been having difficulties getting the Maple Player to start on my laptop.  PIII 933 Mhz Win XP 752Mb RAM

Initially didn't work so I tried to uninstall (not an option in the program files list - needed to be run from the folder) at which point I came across JVM not detected.  So I had to download and install the latest Java.  At that point the uninstall process was okay. 

I re-installed and still was unable to start the player. ...

I sometimes like to work with worksheets in classic mode. However, I have just discovered that I cannot simply type "restart;" in the beginning of a worksheet in classic mode because it causes the worksheet window to freeze. However, if I click the "restart" button, then things go as normal. I really want to have each of my worksheets begin with the "restart;"  command. Need your assistant on a way out.

I use 64-bit windows 7 CORE i3 Dell Inspiron N4050.

Is there a way to have Maple compute the limit of a recursive sequence? For example, the sequence below

a_n = (a_(n-1) +2)/(a_(n-1) + 3), a_1 =2

is bounded and montonically decreasing, thus has a limit, but Maple is not able to compute the limit. Any ideas?

This is for a code that analyzes composite laminates with many plys of varying orientation stacked on top of each other, and this is the first semester I've used Maple.

I'm solving for the roots of an equation which will always have a positive and a negative root, and I do this for each ply (could be 100 plies in a laminate).  I want to collect the positive root for each ply, put them in a list or array, and then pick out the smallest value of all the plies ...
