I still can't get it to work in my file! I downloaded your document, which works fine. When I press the !!! button (evaluate entire worksheet) it returns exactly what you have. However, as soon as I replicate your code (including trying copy/paste) in any other document, including a completely blank one, and try to execute it, I get the "Error, (in convert/matrix) invalid expression for eval" error. What is going on? I'm thinking it might have something to do with my preferences, but I don't know. I have it set to "New Engine for Each Document", so that shouldn't be a problem. I have also downloaded the latest Maple (11.02) so that shouldn't be a problem either. I am on a Mac. Can you think of anything?
Sorry to bother you guys again, but I still am unable to get it to work. this is what I have:

could someone point out to me what I am doing wrong? Second Question: when using the scatterplot command, if I want to shift my x data points a certain number to the right, would it be valid to do something like: scatterplot((x+1),y) ? I am able to plot the points fine using the right-click drop down menu, but I need to shift all the x values to the right. Once again, thank you guys so much for your help, even if I haven't gotten it to work quite yet. -Evan P.S. also, I have tried shifting the x values by creating second matrix like this: B:=matrix(100,2,[1,0,1,0... and so on 100 times] and attempting to add it to the first matrix, A, with the idea of plotting the resultant matrix. However, when I do this, the matrices will not add, instead it displays something like A+B =A+B (except A and B are displayed as their corresponding matrices, not the letters A and B)

Thank you for the quick reply, that was really nice of you. I am now officially very impressed with this site and the helpfulness of the people on it. But, sorry, I still don't understand. (When I said I was new to Maple, I mean really new, I only got it yesterday.) This is what I have on the screen, after using tools/assistants/importdata:

(I have saved this as a new file with only the matrix of interest in it, for ease of use.) Where do I go from here? -Evan P.S.I tried to do what you said, but I could not get it to work. I'm sure this is due to my own stupidity however, and not an error on your part. I got: "Error, number of indices exceeds rank."
