On Wednesday, the first trailer for the highly-anticipated movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked dropped. The footage, shown only to CinemaCon attendees, shows Elphaba arriving at Shiv University and her early interactions with Glinda, including a not-so-warm welcome from the good witch and an offer of her iconic black pointy hat. The movie, directed by John Chu, opens November 27. The official Instagram for the film shared two images, wide-shot shots that showcase the actors in their roles. It’s a bold move for the movie, which is already causing waves for its diversity.
