Unfortunately I do not know if I need those digits or not. I was doing the calculation in Matlab but my eigenvalues were not converging as I increase the size of the matrix. (It is an instability calculation and I am calculating eigenvalues of a matrix that is a result of discretization of differential equations) . My matrix is are generally ill-conditioned ones there for I am trying to reduce the round-off errors by increasing the precision.
