During our tests, it avoided getting caught on power cords and long curtains as well as dog toys. It's not perfect but it sometimes ran into obstacles such as tangled wires or some odd book or toy.
The S7 Max Ultra can be operated via its smartphone app. This is where you can discover all the advanced features which set it apart from other robot vacuums and mop machines. The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capability was good too, although not the best we've seen. It used a microfiber mop which can absorb liquids and use sonic vibrating technology to scrub floors as high as 3000 revolutions per minute. This was faster than the X1 Omni circular pads that spin at 180 rotations per minute. The S7 Max Ultra's ReactiveAI 2.0 obstacle recognition system was excellent. In our tests, it never got stuck on anything and stayed clear of curtains, power cords and other obstructions that could be a problem all the time.
2. Narwal Freo
Vacuuming and mopping your floors is one of those chores that everyone dreads but is essential for maintaining a tidy home. It's also a messy, and often unpleasant task that can be a challenge to complete since it requires cleaning up the dustbins and water and making sure that no debris or hair does not get stuck in the traps or brushes. This is why mopping and vacuuming machines are extremely popular. A lot of these machines require you to empty the dustbin, and wash and rinsing mop pads manually. The Narwal Freo is the latest version of this class of robotic cleaners. It comes with a host of brand new software, sensors and hardware enhancements that are designed to keep it at the top of its game. This includes the trademarked DirtSense technology and Smart-Swing feature, both of which help to detect the surface being cleaned and automatically alters the cleaning mode based on what type of flooring it is. The Freo also monitors the level of dirtiness and automatically washes its mops when they are full, which improves the efficiency of subsequent cleaning sessions by not returning to areas with stains.
The Freo is also an improvement over its predecessor in that it can be controlled directly by the LCD touchscreen at its base station. This is in addition to the app for smartphones. This is the first robot vacuum and mop combination to have this feature. It's a great feature if you don't want to use the app. You can also alter the route in the middle of the session using the LCD screen controls.
The Narwal Freo is also quiet when it is in suction mode, with a noise level of only 63dB. The Freo's maintenance process is not entirely hands-free, however. You will need to clean the primary brush roll and the side brushes regularly.
3. Ecovacs Deebot t9+
The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ is available at The Good Guys (for $1279) and is one of the most advanced self-emptying robots that mop and vacuum combos. It is capable of mapping your home, cleaning and mopping, as well as spotting and staying clear of obstacles. It can even spout an air freshener.

It's also easy to use the app to create zones for areas that should be cleaned or those you would like to avoid, as well as establish specific no-mop and no-sweep areas.
IRobot's iAdapt 2.0 technology is a significant part of what makes the Combo j7+ so smart. This is a front camera that sits atop the majority of its robots.
