Unfortunately, my function is not a polynomial. The general problem is as follows: I have an implicit function F that looks like this:

where p_t is the endogenous variable (>0) and all the others are parameters (restrictions on parameters are that 00). I want to do some comparative statics, i.e. how does the endogenous variable changes if ceteris paribus one parameter changes.

Thus, I calculate the following derivative with the aim to determine the sign

which can be easily done by hand (not posted because too nasty). The sign can also be determined.

Now the task I wanted to implement in Maple is to derive the sign of the derivative w.r.t. rho now, i.e.

which I couldn't derive by hand anymore. Maple does give me the derivative but I don't know how to determine the sign if the above mentioned parameter restrictions are assumed.

If you have any ad hoc technique for this problem, I'd be very thankful.
