Hello everyone, this is my first post on MaplePrimes.

I work with Dev Technosys, a custom software development company in Jaipur, India. We build web and mobile applications for clients in fintech, logistics, healthcare, and a few other industries. Our engineers mostly write in languages like Python, Node.js, and Java, but Maple has quietly become part of our workflow for one specific job: validating the math before it ever reaches application code.

A typical example is a loan EMI and amortisation module for a lending app. The client’s finance team had their own interpretation of compounding and rounding rules, and the first implementation in code did not match their spreadsheet. Instead of debugging inside the app, one of our team members modelled the formula in Maple, generated a reference table with exact rational arithmetic, and then compared it against both the spreadsheet and the code output. The mismatch turned out to be a rounding step applied at the wrong point. Having an exact reference made that obvious within an hour.

A few other places where Maple has helped us:

  1. Route-distance and fuel-estimate formulas for a fleet management app, where we used Maple to check unit conversions and edge cases (zero distance, negative time) before coding them.
  2. Interest-rate sensitivity plots that we shared with a client to explain why small rate changes produced large repayment differences.
  3. Symbolic simplification of a scoring formula that had grown messy over several iterations, which made the final code shorter and easier to test.

What I would like to learn from this community:

  • Does anyone else use Maple as a “reference implementation” tool alongside conventional software projects?
  • Are there good practices for exporting Maple results (tables or simplified expressions) in a form that developers can drop into unit tests?
  • Any worksheets or packages you recommend for financial mathematics?

Thank you for reading, and I look forward to learning from the discussions here.
