How to use the Steam ID Finder in order to find your Steam profile settings A steam ID is a short name for a digital identification number assigned to each user of a multiplayer online game. A Steam ID can be used to identify one person in multiplayer video games and their Steam profile. A Steam ID can also be used to log in to the Steam client, should you make any computer or internet setting changes. When you create a Steam ID, a random number generator is used to generate your unique username and password. To perform a search on a Steam profile name of a user, first download a key form the Steamworks SDK Website, and then save as a plain text file. To perform this search, you must be logged into the Steamworks website. Navigate and click "Change URL" to find the file that contains your custom url. Then click on the appropriate category to view all of the games that match your custom url. It is now a matter of clicking on the "Search" button to display all of the games that are available in that category. Simply enter your steam id in the text area to add it. You will be asked to validate it before you can proceed. It is important that you provide a valid id. Next, navigate to "My Computer".
