I'm currently working on modelling a system for a design project, and I would like to incorporate my sensor's precision. If I wanted to measure an angle, but only to a precision of say, 0.3 degrees, would I have to build a custom component or is there some clever way to do this?

I have Maple 12, and not MapleSim.  Has anyone stumbled across something that "runs on top" of Maple that is similar to COMSOL Multiphysics that runs on top of MATLab?  I'd like to figure out (without writing the Maple code myself...) how to import some simple 3D geometries and run some (possibly symbolic, probably numeric) simulations of electromagnetic and heat flow phenomena.  COMSOL uses FEM.  Is this something MapleSim could do?  I don't need anything that'll do "real world" geometries (i.e.

I have a very simple problem. How to create custum component similrar to real expresion block (this block doesn't accept piecewise function) who generates piecewice function f:=x->piecewise(x<=2,0,x>=2 and x<=6,exp(-2x),x>=6,0) on output and nothing on input. When I modificate algebraic equtation template and input piecewise function there is an eror who doesn't accept the syntax for piecewise.

i have a MapleSim model that works flawlessly, no errors occur and the plot results are as expected. When i try to use a template however(Analysis, Equations), the following message pops up:

(in PiecewiseTools:-is) Wrong kind of Parameters in piecewise.

What could cause this ? Unfortunately, my model is not for the public yet, so i cannot show you the sheet.

assume we have a cooling box that we open for a time period delta t. The box may be opened on top, so no cold air gets lost. What is the best way to model this in Maplesim ? So far, i have a heat capacity as box model for the cold air in it. I modeled a constant negative signal   during the time window delta t  and connected  a prescribed heat flow component to it.

Is this a reasonable model  in the easiest case ?

have a look at this circuit, a simple Opamp-oscillator.  I can't get it to work with Maplesim, can someone show me how to simulate this ?

Hi,

the implemented Power Sensor calculates the instantenious power, it just multiplies u(t) and i(t). What i need now is a device that gives me the average power, the sources all have periodic voltages/currents (most common case: sin shaped sources). I thought i could use the power sensor and integrate over a period, but i don't know how to  enter the upper time limit.

it shouldn't be hard to, do, but i cannot get this working. I just want to create a signal source that creates a pulse form signal with the pulse width parameter as a realsignal input. I used the custom component template and tried the DynamicSystems[Square] command, but the error messages that came up during this process didn't help me too much, because they seem to be unrelated (error in collect/series...). Do i have to create a new System first (DynamicSystems[NewSystem])?

maybe anyone knows a workaround for this: draw a rectangle in MapleSim, select the menu with the filling tool and browse for an image. The imported image (gif,jpeg, what you want) does not show up properly, it is stangely distorted. I really need this feature because i want to create some demo sheets to show how to do things in MapleSim.   I use MapleSim2 with latest updates.

Does anybody hasa suggest how to quickly get the "initial conditons" of a (control) loop in MapleSim ?

When I'm debugging loops in MaplSim I'm missing a way to get the inital conditions and then to be able to see the (first) numerical values in each probe or on the "wires/ports".

Does something like this exit, or is it to be pushed on the "suggestion" list.

This applies also to PDE resolutions, the "get Initial Condition" run is a good trick to first check your model before running it.
