I am using MS Win 10.  No problems with Maple 2016 (original).  I installed 2016.1 (replacing 2016) and exactly the kind of errors reported are happening.  It is maddening.

I still have Maple 2015 installed.  If I try to execute a file that was saved after acting up in 2016.1, the errors are still there - that is, the file has "trash" in it.

If I retype the same information in a new file using Maple 2015, it works.

Maple 2016.1 is garbage.
