Thanks for your swift response. I appreciate you pointing that out. I knew that one of my solutions was likely to be erroneous due to the fact that I squared the equation. That doubled the highest power of my variable, increasing the number of possible roots, so there had to be some errors. I also ignored negative roots because I know that my result has to be positive for physical reasons. I could still use some help with the final verification of the correct root, however. I am hoping to verify the solution in general. I suppose I could try picking values and verify it for various special cases, but that would not be the best option for me if I can avoid it. -Jim
