I did not state my question well enough the first time. What I am looking for is a way to maple numericaly solve for whatever variable I did not enter. enter hp and T solve for rpm enter hp and rpm solve for T enter T and rpm solve for hp I dont care if I have to initialy enter three different forms of the equation. I am just looking for a clean way of entering the knowns and solving for the unknown. on a hp48 calculator you enter a equation that is equal to any one of the variables. you then run solve which lists all the variables over soft keys. you enter your known and press that soft key to assign the value. you do that with each your knowns. then you shift-softkey to solve for that variable. the calculator backsolves for any of the variables. you can change any variable and solve for any other variable after they al have values entered.
