Thanks for the response, it is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately the equations are not polynomials. There are fractions with variables in both the numerator and denominator as well as square roots. I should have stated that originally, sorry. Additionally (though not relevant to the previous reply) I should state that exact solutions are strongly desired. My supervisor would frown upon numerical methods.
