I have a degree in Mathematics and Physics from the Danish University Aarhus, comparable to a masters degree with thesis - majoring in Mathematics. In 1991-92 I was a visting scholar at UCLA, Los Angeles, following graduate courses in Applied Mathematics. Since 1992 I have been a teacher in a high school (gymnasium) in Denmark. Special interests: Applied mathematics, graphics and popularizing Mathematics.

Your intention of separating general discussions about Maple from specific questions which have a solution might be fruitful, but I don't find the word "Posts" a good choice. Actually I was very confused myself when I entered the updated MaplePrimes today. Until I found this thread I did not know where to ask about my Maple problem. The word "Posts" is very often used for what is here called "Questions". Eventually try writing "Post a question" or "Posts in Forum" or the like in Google and watch how much stuff is coming up.

I don't think the word "Discussion" will do it either. And "Topic" probably neither. I suggest you try searching for another word, which do not get confused with "Questions". If you cannot find any appropriate word, then maybe this whole idea of making this distinction is not necessary ...

Thank you so much. I appreciate both solutions. The first one doesn't need the little strange ~, whereas the latter doesn't need a call for the LinearAlgebra package. Pretty nice solutions both!

Thank you so much, Scott! You are right it works well. I am however still puzzled about the logic behind this syntax: When t runs from 0 to 100[[years]], then t[[years]] should run from 0 to100 [[years]]^2 in my World. Is Maple totally consistent here?Anyway I appreciate your answer!

Right, but still it is annoying to have to strip off units to be able to make this plot, after having solved the first part of the exercise using units. Almost the same command lines need to be written twice. I simply don't understand why Maple can't handle this situation: It is clear and unambigious what units are being used for the independent variable t and the units for the dependent variabel A!

Thanks, that solves my problem. I had not noticed the possibility of inserting a Spreadsheet from the menu, sorry! Now it works acceptable.

Some comments: I am writing a guide for my students. At the same time I am trying to find out the best working process for them. It seems like it is not possible to access data from within the Spreadsheet outside it on the command lines. I mean you cannot reference the data in the cells in the Spreadssheet outside on the command lines. So I guess when making plots from data it is better staying outside the Spreadsheet and doing everything on the command lines. The spreadsheet can on the other hand serve as a graphically better way of presenting things than what is possible on the commandlines. My applications are in Physics. Often we use The Logger Pro software from Vernier for data collection from physics experiments. Inside this program it works like a spreadsheet: Some columns are measured, others can be calculated and it is very easy producing plots from the columns. Basicly you just insert a graph and point out which data columns are going to be on each axis. I was investigating how Maple was working here. Apparently not as userfriendly, but still acceptable for some applications. On other issues Maple is far ahead when talking about doing manipulations to data and analyzing it ...
