I have simplified a fairly large expression derived by Maple and am chacking to see if the two expressions are the same.  Previously, when I did this, the result was pretty straightforward: when the output was 0 = 0, the expressions were the same; however, now when Maple simplifies the expression I can sometimes use a combination of the simplify, factor, expand, collect, and combine functions to get it to spit out 0 = 0, but sometimes I can't.  Here is an example which shows the problem.

Maple sometimes decides that the plot needs to be plotted from -infinity to infinite when I do not want it to.  How Maple decides to do this seems inconsistent.  Some plots having a maximum value on the order of 10^3, get plotted on the infinite scale, while others do not.  On the other hand, other plots having a maximum value on the order of 10^-32 get plotted on the infinite scale, while others do not.  In any case, I would very much like to know what...

I am working on solving a very complex differential equation.  I believe I have a solution and am currently trying to check the solution I have to see if it is correct.  the method I am using right now is to assign all of the derived expressions to variables and then ask Maple if my solution satisfies the differential equation.  That is to say, I do something similar to the following:

x := solution :
