Here is what Ive been trying to resolve. Isnt the normal line supposed to be perpendicular to the tangent? Why does my graph look that way?I have been getting conflicting results and am not sure anymore of what result is needed here. Feel free to look at my worksheet. tangent_and_normal_l.mw

Thank you that helped. I was able to fix my graph.

I will try dsolve. So I assume this will give the value of the C constant? Unless I am misunderstanding something here. I will try it out with the problems from the above attached worksheet. and see how it goes and post it here.

@hermitian I want to make a graph with deceleration vs time. I was trying to use my calculations to create a graph but it was creating a graph with infinity which is incorrect. The work for this problem is in my other question on the main question page in the posting above this one.

@hermitian Initially I had solve it that way but then I changed it around to be in a differential equation form because thats the format the chapter was using.

@hermitian I see now. So sys and ic are two items that you declared. I had throught so initially but wasn't sure if this was a command. This is an interesting way to approach the problem. It reminds me of coding. I assume that coding in Maple can be done in a similar way to how its done in other programs too.

How do the sys and ic commands work? I am a novice in Maple. This is the first time I am seeing those.
